Elementary

At  Wuhan Yangtze International School, we strive to create positive learning environment for our kindergarten and elementary school students.

Kindergarten

The kindergarten program provides initial learning experiences in language development, number concepts, creative skills and social and physical development. Using concrete experiences, students are given the building blocks for perceiving, thinking and problem solving.

Creative educational experiences provide balance and variety among physical, mental, spiritual and social activities as the child's world of awareness is extended from the home to the classroom.

General Elementary

The elementary program uses integrated, thematic units. These units are based on a Social Studies topic and are integrated into other content areas. Students receive an in-depth, well-rounded understanding of the world around them.

Elementary curriculum develops thinking and problem-solving skills in each student. Skills are built on previous learning and on measureable, performance objectives. To help achieve learning goals, two assessments (한국어中文) are given to students every year – once in the fall and spring.

As students come from a variety of educational backgrounds, an effort is made to identify the academic level of each student. If needed, recommendations will be given for alternative instruction in order to give each student the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.
