Policies
The middle school program begins in grade 6. All students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades take courses in Bible, social studies, English, Science, Art, PE, Chinese or ESOL. The high school program begins in ninth grade and is administered according to a semester credit system. 24 credits of high school credit are required for graduation. One half credit is given for each full semester of a course successfully completed in grades 9-12.

Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID)
WYIS believes that proper preparation for college is vital. The WYIS Advanced Placement (AP®) program is an essential part of the secondary curriculum.
WYIS offers a comprehensive AP® program, which prepares students for the Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID). The APID is a globally recognized certificate for students with an international outlook. The APID challenges a student to display exceptional achievement on Advanced Placement Program® AP® Exams across several disciplines. Universities worldwide use the APID in admissions. WYIS’s current implementation plan will enable graduates of the 2010-2011 school year to be eligible for the AP International Diploma.
