International Schools Consortium

International Schools Consortium (iSC) is a nonprofit organization that, since 1986, has offered excellent academic programs to meet the intellectual, physical, and emotional needs of students. iSC has six schools in China — in Chengdu, Qingdao, Wuhan, Wuxi, Tianjin, and Yantai — one school in the UAE, and helps to support various other educational initiatives globally. iSC is a multi-school program, enabling students and teachers to participate in system-wide programs where they can interact with others outside of their immediate school. Students compete in basketball, volleyball and soccer tournaments, as well as music and choral festivals, and Model United Nations (MUN) conventions.

ELEMENTARY MAP TESTING IN JANUARY

From January 8-18, WYIS will conduct MAP® (Measures of Academic Progress ®) testing for elementary students only. We conduct MAP tests regularly throughout the year, and this mid-year test for Elementary will allow us to track students’ growth from the test taken earlier in the year. To learn more about MAP, please visit https://www.nwea.org/parent-toolkit/ or contact your child’s teacher.

FOR FAMILIES EXITING AT CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY

We understand that families sometimes exit from WYIS during school year. If you are planning to exit during Christmas break or shortly after, please email our Admissions manager, Mrs. Jessica Han, with the following information as soon as possible: 1) Student name 2) Current grade 3) expected last date at WYIS.

Your information will help us provide a smooth exit experience for you. If you have further questions, please contact Mrs. Han.

GOLDEN HARBOR CHRISTMAS MARKET

The annual Golden Harbor Christmas Market is this Saturday beginning at 10:00.  The market will be on French Street in Hanyang. Our PTO will have booths at the market selling food and lots of great Christmas items.  Proceeds from PTO sales go to support projects here at WYIS.
See you at the market!

AIR QUALITY MONITORING

Part of keeping our students and staff safe is making sure they are breathing healthy air at school. School nurse Sue Fryer monitors multiple sites to get the best reading of air quality outdoors, and students are only released for outdoor activities if the AQI reading is appropriate. In addition to monitoring AQI sites, we also test the air with a physical air quality monitor. Indoors, every classroom is equipped with air purifiers to keep the indoor air clean. If you have specific concerns about AQI, please contact Sue Fryer or your child's teacher.
